The first round of enhancing the site is complete: my Last.FM journal articles and del.icio.us bookmarks are now republished here.

Right align your form fields
It is [this guy’s] argument that “It will take less time and effort to fill up the right aligned form in comparison with the left aligned one”. Seems compelling, maybe I need to re-examine my forms in Startershop? (via Snook)
Space Invader
A space invader made with ceramic tiles as the pixels. I saw one of these in Manchester recently, near the Palace Hotel, but didn’t have a camera with me. They look great.
Aha
Finally I get around to updating my site to use something more sophisticated than hand written HTML. It’s a start.
Things that were on the left are (probably) on the right now. Oh, apart from Dress-a-Doll which gets it’s own link above.
“I Predict a Riot” – barbershop stylee
Run, don’t walk, over to the Kaiser Chiefs official site, where for 3 days you can download the Cheshire Chord Company cover of Kaiser Chiefs – I Predict a Riot. Absolutely brilliant.
Update 06/01/22: You can listen to a clip of I Predict a Riot (BBC ReadlAudio stream), from a BBC news article. The track is advertised on the Cheshire Chord Company website as being available soon.
(Ping… Cheshire Chord Company – I Predict A Riot.)
(Ping… Kaiser Chiefs.)
Richard Hawley & Pulp?
I hadn’t realised that Richard Hawley was the guitarist with Pulp. Wikipedia’s article on Richard mentions his time with Pulp, but the Wikipedia article on Pulp doesn’t mention his involvement. I think he was guitarist on the tour in support of Pulp – This Is Hardcore, and maybe didn’t do any studio work with them… does anyone know more?

CSS Filters
CSS Filters are pieces of CSS code known only to affect certain browsers. This page holds a table of many CSS Filters and which browsers they affect.
Airclick and RealPlayer
Unfortunately AirClick doesn’t control RealPlayer out of the box, but can be extended with AppleScript.
[Update: I’ve managed to get working AppleScript for adding RealPlayer to the applications supported by AirClick. I will write it up in due time, but in the meantime feel free to comment if you’re interested in an advance copy.]
[Update 2: Download my AirClick for RealPlayer scripts (oops, deleted them in a recent upgrade), including a readme.txt explaining how you might get it working. These scripts work for me, but you use and install them at your own risk.]
[Update 3: Changed title from “Applescripting RealPlayer 10”.]
Greetings cards and Christmas cards
We didn’t get around to it this year, but C wanted to make our own Christmas cards and these people seemed reasonable. (Greetings cards have full colour glossy fronts and can be printed with your design or logo.)
